EMSOL SCW-5000 Used to Reinforce 24

In a 24" pipe owned by Petroleos Mexicanos, Consultores Integrados, our local distributor, performed a successful repair to a pipe suffering from wall thickness problems.   The EMSOL SCW-5000 system was used to create a structural carbon wrap in a linear segment measuring 10 ft (3 m).

The EMSOL SCW-5000 system consists of:

• Epoxy resurfacer to fill low spots or damages

• Epoxy resin to wet out the carbon fiber 

• Carbon fiber

• Final inspection to check integrity of repair

• Paint with UV resistant barrier coating

The system once again proved its versatility on the field, even in adverse situations, and the pipeline was structurally repaired without the need for costly replacement.
